Description |
Unguentarium of pale greenish blue glass, blown. Double tube shape, of equal diameter. Rims folded inwards on slightly flared mouth. Tubes narrowing very slightly and terminating in thickened ridge with solid glass base below, with flattened surface. Small thin handles from rims to shoulder, with heavy attachments, double basket handles rising from outer corners of these. From upper surface of basket handles a further simple handle, clumsily and thickly attached, rises in a further arch. The double body is decorated with a spiral thread from top to bottom. Surface deterioration and irridescence. Roman c. 4 AD. |
